on the scene of something that is affecting many customers, paul? >> reporter: good morning we are live in the bay view district, this is where it was affected and you can see there is power restored to part of the area but right down the street right here, that area is still in a blackout. here is the scene this morning, the base of the pole was burned and still smoldering. for some reason this live wire fell to the ground causing an outage that affected 235 paint page customers. they are working to restore power and figuring out what caused this. this could have been extremely dangerous and had somebody come into contact with that live wire or if it fell to the ground. we spoke with a rep from pg&e who said 220 people are still without power. i told crews they will be out here during daybreak to figure out what caused the outage and as you can see, they have basically disconnected it leaving it here for the investigation. like i said 220 people are still without power and that's a big difference since so many more were without power. >>> a truck hit two people and they are trying

senator rand paul conducted african old-fashion filibuster. he spock for 13 hours demanding answers about government policy and use of drones. he was harshly criticized by other republican senators john mccain and lindsey graham. the end result, ron paul clearly helped his cause 67% of republican voters have a favorable opinion. nipe points since the filibuster. mccain and graham don't fair as well. as congress considers what to do about the federal budget, 62% of voters nationwide are concerned they will raise taxes too much. only 29% worry they won't raise them enough. on another topic 50% of americans want to break up the nation's biggest banks. 23% are opposed. riding some of this is the fact these banks receive huge subsidies from the federal government in the form of loan guarantees. 76% of americans want those subsidies brought to an end. and, of course, there's still lingering anger at the banks from the financial industry meltdown of a few years ago. 78% believe wall street benefited the most from those bailouts. that's the topic for this week's "man on the street" intervie

extra security, paul chambers is there on campus with what police are saying about the threat that sparked the extra security. >> good morning. this is all a result of a cryptic message that said it was a threat against a school. this morning, students and staff will be greeted by staff that will be on campus working alongside to provide a safe environment for staff. it is a result for those finding a rambling message. police haven't said what is contained in the message but did say that they were working with officials here to try to determine the source of this threat. police sergeant released this statement saying that the safety of the students are our paramount concern it's not the first local school to get added police officers and patrol. last week, police patrolled foothill high school after a threat was found in a girl's bathroom since then several others have had to deal with other issues including two in tracy and in those three cases, they were tracked down and facing hard punishments. parents you might want to pay close attention to your students. in some cases, parent

out of san francisco where a power outage knocked out power to thousands of people. paul was there with the latest on how many people are still being affected. >> reporter: good morning. we're told that the last report was about 220 customers without power. crews just left the area. you can see there are burn marks where that live wire landed. they just took the wire out of the area. this part you can see is little, very well lit. you you can see over here, there's customers over here that are taking part of the blackout. here's the scene. you can see the base of the pole was burnt and smoldering. it started before 2:00, for some to be the courtroomed reason, some how this live wire fell to the ground and affected the customers. crews have been here all morning long working to restore power and figure out what caused the incident. as of now, it appears no one was injured. it could have been a dangerous situation. we spoke with a rep and they say about 220 customers are without power. it's unclear when they will have their power restored. we're told crews will be here to determine w
